She was born March 5, 1914, in Rome Township, MN, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Grimmelman) Ehrich. Alta grew up in the rural Elmore area where she attended country school and St. Johns Parochial School. She was married to Albert H. Renkly on June 30, 1932 in Elmore. The couple farmed the Renkly Family farm northeast of Blue Earth for many years. They moved to Blue Earth in the early 1970s. Alta was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aide. She was also active in the U of MN Extension Clubs, enjoyed playing cards, and tended to large vegetable and flower gardens. Alta & Albert were both pilots who enjoyed traveling in there airplane to Mexico, Central America and all over the U.S. Alta is survived by her daughter, Violet Mensing of Blue Earth, her son, Richard (Eunyce) Renkly of Arlington, her son, Maynard (Anne) Renkly of Arlington, SD, her daughter, Marian DeLeon of Blue Earth, her daughter, Elaine Alderink of Foley, MN, her son, Harold Renkly of Lake Benton, MN, her son, Darold (Corrine) Renkly of Volga, SD, her daughter, Alice (Harlan) Kuchenbecker of Jackson, her son, Rodger (& Jody) Renkly of Blue Earth, 33 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, 1 sister, 2 brothers, 2 grandsons, 2 great grandchildren, 2 infant great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law and 3 sons-in-law.
