She was born April 25, 1917, at Petersburg, Nebraska, the daughter of Claude and Helen (Koskovich) Koskovich.Agnes was raised and educated in Nebraska until her family came to the Blue Earth area when she was a young teenager. She was married to John C. Jack Schaal on January 28, 1937 in Algona, Iowa. Agnes helped Jack on the farm and also worked as a nurse at the Blue Earth Hospital for many years. She also worked for the MVAC for 11 years, was the curator of the Faribault Co. Historical Society Museum in Blue Earth and was a member of the Town & County Players. Agnes is survived by her daugther, Cathy (Robert) Berentson of Mankato, her brother, Alex (& Alice) Koskovich of Sebeka, her brother, Francis (& Lorraine) Koskovich of Fairmont, her sister, Marie Whitehead of Armstrong, Iowa, her sister, Germaine "Jo" (& David) Kropp of Fairmont, 3 grandchildren: Aimee Mettler, Dustin (&Liz) & Bobbi Jo Berentson and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews, special niece & nephew, Fran (& Ted) Kaminski of Armstrong, Iowa, sisters-in-law: Kathleen Koskovich of St. Cloud, Jane Koskovich of Northfield and Gertrude Koskovich of Winona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Jack, and 6 brothers: Alphonse, Lawrence, Fred Vincent, Joseph, Benjamin & Jerome Koskovich, 2 granchildren and brother-in-law, Lyle Whitehead.
