Thilmerwas born January 21, 1914, in Bricelyn, MN, the son of Ole and Elizebeth (Gronfor) Silrum.He was raised and educated in Bricelyn where he attended country school. He was married to Mavis J. Johnson on March 8, 1940 in Blue Earth. Thilmer farmed near Bricelyn for more than 20 years before moving to Eau Claire, Wisconsin 1961. The couple returned a year later and purchased the furniture store in Bricelyn, Silrum Furniture. He owned and operated the furniture store before becoming a sales representative with Harper Brush in the early 1970s. He retired in 1996. Thilmer was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church where served in many church offices over the years. He enjoyed fishing and was a sports fan, especially the Minnesota Twins.Thilmer is survived by his wife, Mavis Silrum of Blue Earth, his daughter, Karen (Arlyn) Klatt of Blue Earth, his sister, Esther Hanson of Blue Earth, his brother, Jorgen (Ruth) Silrum of Albert Lea, his brother, Edwin (Marie) Silrum of Eagan, grandchildren: Tamra (Scott) Boettcher, Kevin (K. Renee) Klatt, Michella (Brian) Frank and 7 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, son- T. Michael Silrum, brother, Ruben Silrum, and sisters, Alma Holmseth and Dena Erdal.
