Dr. David Patton

Dr. Patton was born on August 22, 1955, in Waseca, MN, the son of John and Carol Patton. He was a 1974 graduate of Blue Earth High School and graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1979 and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 1983. He performed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser in San Francisco, Ca. from 1983 1987 and his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas from 1987 1989. He had practiced in San Francisco, Ca. & Virginia Beach, VA, before moving to Dallas, TX in 1999. For the past ten years Dr. Patton was a valued member and a driving force in his perinatology practice, North Texas Perinatal Associates. He dealt with mothers that had heart disease or cancer. His care for the unborn included performing groundbreaking blood transfusions to tiny patients still in the womb. His attention to detail and his technologic prowess were legendary among his co-workers and patients. He was an irreplaceable friend and colleague to many in the world of obstetrics. He was a member of many local and national professional societies. Dr. Patton was a truly compassionate physician, mentor, and friend to his patients and co-workers. His skills as a brilliant doctor, teacher and problem solver will be missed by all who knew him. Dr. Patton is survived by his soul-mate and wife of 33 years, Wanda J. Patton, RN of Allen, TX, his father John M. Patton of Blue Earth, MN; his brother Blake (Mary) Patton and nephew John of West Bend, WI; brother Ed Patton of St. Paul, MN; brother Tom Patton of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother Carol Patton in 1987, who taught him to be a defender of the defenseless.Further information may be found at dallasnews.com
