Eugene Hacklander

Gene was born April 3, 1935, in Blue Earth, the son Carrol and Ada (Osmundson) Hacklander. He was raised and educated in the farming community in Blue Earth where he was a 1953 graduate of Blue Earth High School. He graduated with a degree in Agriculture from the University of Minnesota and farmed near Blue Earth for many years. He had a love of the land and for animals. He enjoyed gardening following his retirement and was a frequent volunteer for the local food shelf. Gene is survived by his wife, Florence Hacklander of Blue Earth, his son, David Hacklander and special friend Jackie Frederickson of Blue Earth, his daughter, Becky Hacklander of Ringwood, New Jersey, his brother, Duane (& Effie) Hacklander of Prescott, AZ and his sister, Nancy (& Virgil) Swoyer of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Mary Hagedorn and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hagedorn.
