Alice D. Franke

Alice was born June 3, 1915, in Blue Earth, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Sommerfield) Oelke. She was raised and educated in Blue Earth where she graduated from high school in 1933. She attended cosmetology college and became a cosmetologist in Blue Earth. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth where she was baptized on August 6, 1916 and confirmed on June 5, 1938. She was married to Orice W. Franke on June 3, 1936 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. In addition to hairdressing, Alice was a homemaker for many years.Alice is survived by her grandson, Greg (& Raylene) Kastner of Cathedral City, California and their children Jeffrey (6) and Amanda (2) She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orice in 1994 and a son, Lee in 2005.
