Harold was born September 10, 1924, in Verona Township, MN, the son of Peter and Grace (Ramsey) Sorgenfrie.He was raised on the family farm near Huntley and was a 1942 graduate of Huntley High School. He served in the 330th Bombardier group in the Pacific theater during WWII. He returned to the farm following his service. On July 9, 1952 he and Sandy Arends were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. The couple farmed all their married life on Harold''s family farm, where he loved raising livestock, including pure-bread Shorthorn cattle, and horses. Harold loved his wife, his family and his work - especially his livestock. Crops were grown to sustain the livestock he loved to raise. Harold loved to work. Sandy, his supportive wife of 55 years said work was, "never to early, never to late and never to heavy." He was a positive person with a quick tongue and sharp wit. Harold was an insurance agent during the 1980''s with South Central Insurance. He was the Chairman of the Guckeen Farmer''s Elevator Board for 25 years and was a very active and longstanding, member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago.Harold is survived by his wife, Sandy Sorgenfrie of Winnebago, son, Curt (& Cindy) Sorgenfrie of Blue Earth, daughter, Cindy (& Denny) Greeley of Sherburn, son, Cory (& Robin) Sorgenfrie of Rochester, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-Harriet Manges and a son- Craig Sorgenfrie.
