She was born September 8, 1915, at Grand Rapids,Wisconsin, the daughter of Irvin and Maude (Cheatle) Ankeny.Ruth was raised and educated in the rural Blue Earth and Winnebago areas, where she was a 1932 graduate of Winnebago High School. She received her teachers training in Blue Earth and later attended the University of Minnesota. She taught in rural country schools before her marriage to Wesley G. Milbrandt on June 9, 1940 in Winnebago. Ruth was a lifelong volunteer wherever she was. With the Elmore United Methodist Church she was a longtime member and active in all church offices including bible study and teaching Sunday school. She was active with 4H, was on the Board of the Prairie Express Transport Service and was named the Outstanding Faribault Co. Senior Citizen in the late 1980''s- in honor of her volunteer work. When she was a resident of Parker Oaks she was given the Golden Heart Award for Volunteerism. She had recently resided at St. Luke,s Lutheran Care Center where she was on the Resident Council. Ruth was famous for her wonderful baking and for faithfully sending cards and letters for birthdays and anniversaries for all her church members, St. Luke''s residents, family & friends. Ruth is survived by her son, Irvin (& Marcia) Milbrandt of Elmore, son, Doug Milbrandt of Elmore, her daughter, Ruth Ann (& John) Stalder of Calgary Alberta, Canada, her son, Bruce (& Pam) Milbrandt of Storm Lake, Iowa, her daughter, Rose (& John) Berry of Tomah, Wisconsin, her son, Ross (& Tammy) Milbrandt of Elmore, her foster-daughter, Olive Richardson of Swea City, Iowa, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1977 and a daughter-Dawn Milbrandt in 2005.
