Charlotte Henderson

She was born July 21, 1916, in Frost, MN, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Larson) Nodland.Charlotte was raised and educated in the rural Frost area, where she was a 1934 graduate of Bricelyn High School. She was married to Albert N. Henderson on January 26, 1935 in rural Frost. She was baptized, confirmed and married by Pastor Okerlund of Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Frost, who also baptized her children. The couple farmed in Frost, Kiester & Bricelyn before moving to Frost in 1952 where they owned and operated the Henderson "66" Service Station. She was a longtime member of Frost United Lutheran Church, where she found great joy in serving church & community and was very active; taking leadership roles in Frost United Women''s groups, acting for four years on the Conference ALCW board, as well as several years as local president and other positions. She was also active in volunteer work at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center & Hospital Auxiliary, Frost Senior Citizens & Community Club. The couple retired in 1983. In 1998, after 46 years in Frost, they decided to sell their home because of declining health and moved into Crescent Apartments in Blue Earth. At this time they joined the Trinity Lutheran Church family. She was a member of the TLCW, Lydia Circle and the quilters group. Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Carrie and husband Doyle Koestler of Wells, her daughter, Laura and husband Trevor Jacobson of Salem, Oregon, her daughter, Alma and husband Richard Kallesen of Sioux Falls, SD, her brother, Eugene and wife Anna Mae Nodland of Frost, her 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Albert in 2001, an infant son- Donald Henderson in 1943, a brother, Thelmer Nodland and a son-in-law, Lester Belleque.
