She was born September 2, 1918, at rural Blue Earth, where Mr. & Mrs. Dan Schavey now reside. She was the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Schroeder) Steinberg. She attended and graduated from country school District 56 in Barber Township. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1938. Vera was engaged to be married to Delbert Bangs of Blue Earth.
