Laveila Mae Mair

Laveila was born on May 13, 1927 to Henry and Florella (Krosch) Grimmelman at their home in rural Elmore. She attended District 66 Country School, St. John''s Parochial School and graduated from Elmore High School. She married Lyle Mair on March 10, 1946 in Blue Earth. They farmed in rural Elmore and later moved to town. In 1966 she began work at United Hospital in Blue Earth, and was a dedicated surgical aide until her retirement on July 12, 2007. She cherished the many friendships made during her 41 years of employment. Her happiness in life was her family and her work. She is survived by her three daughters: Sandra Rippentrop of Rochester, Kathleen (& Dan) Gjerde of Amboy, Shelley (& Donn) Mensing of Woodbury, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rodger (& Mavis) Grimmelman of LeSueur, three sisters: Marie Zielske of Winnebago, Rose Steinbach of Hugo and Mavis (& Gus) Olson of Elmore.Laveila was preceded in death by her beloved son, Larry, three brothers-in-law and her parents.
