Marcella J. Wessels was born October 6, 1924, the daughter of Theodore & Alida (Owens)Kleindl. As a child she moved with her family to Pilot Grove and attended school in Blue Earth, where she received her education through the 8th grade. She worked at the Winnebago factory for 3 years before her marriage to Sute C. Wessels on June 26, 1951 in Valley Springs, S.D. They lived in Luverne for a short time before moving back to Blue Earth. Two children were born to this union. She continued to live in the same house on the west edge of Blue Earth until April of 2004, when she moved into Crescent Apartments. Her hobbies included playing guitar and yodeling in her younger days, as well as crocheting, reading, especially her bible. She also had a collection of dalmations totaling almost 400.Marcella J. Wessels is survived by one Son: Orville (Ken) & wife, Jean of Blue Earth, one Daughter: Llewellyn (Lou) Hinshaw & special friend, Ryan Pieh of Blue Earth,Grandson: John Hinshaw of Blue Earth, Granddaughter: Tina Wessels of Murfreesboro, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, her parents, one brother (Marvin Kleindl), and three sisters, Augusta Larsen, Opal Sunken Trasmer, and Myrtle McCain.
