Arno A. Mathews

He was born April 2, 1936, at his family farm in rural Blue Earth, MN, the son of Walter and Alma (Goltz) Mathews.Arno was born, raised and lived his entire life on his family farm south east of Blue Earth. He attended rural Blue Earth Schools and was married to Laurel Halvorson on August 3, 1958 at North Blue Earth Church. He loved farm life, particularly raising animals and livestock. He was especially fond of his elk and other non-traditional farm animals. He loved to travel, hunt, fish, tell stories and enjoyed a good get-together. Arno mostly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.Arno is survived by his son, Michael (& Brandi) Mathews of Blue Earth, his son, David (& Robin) Mathews of Blue Earth, his daughter, Lori (& Bruce) Meyer of Blue Earth, his sister, Eleanor Schlaak of New Richland, his sister, Luella (& Duane) Hermanson of Blue Earth, brothers-in-law, Robert Tesch of Waldorf and Terry (& Joanne) Halvorson of Bricelyn, his sisters-in-law: Mildred Halvorson of Wells, Rose (& Allan) Faliede of Keniwick, Jeannine Kitson of Rake, Iowa and his 6 grandchildren: Christopher Mathews, Elizabeth Mathews, Taylor Meyer, Cody Meyer, Lilly Mathews and Seth Mathews.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister- Erna Tesch.
