She was born May 12, 1922, at Pilot Grove Township, MN, the daughter of Cort and Dessie (Bruer) Rippentrop.She was raised and educated in the Elmore area where she attended Faribault Co. District School #129. She was married to Fred "Bud" Hargrave on April 18, 1957 in Elmore. Later in 1957 the couple moved to Dickens, Iowa where Arlene worked at the Spencer, Iowa Hospital in the Dietary Department for over 20 years. She was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church. Following Bud''s death in December 1985, Arlene returned to the Elmore area in early 1986 where she owned and showed horses. She had always loved horses and had been a member of the Spencer, Iowa Saddle Club, Elmore Saddle Club and Blue Earth Saddle Club. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family.Arlene is survived by her daughter, Dessie (& Jose Luis) Ibanez of Elmore, her daughter, Ruth Anne Miner of Ruthven, Iowa, her son, Dean Larsen of Elmore, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Bud, brothers, Melvin and Jim Rippentrop, a daughter-in-law, Joanne Larsen, a sister-in-law, Helen Rippentrop and a son-in-law, Judd Salmon.
