Dick was born May 18, 1944, in Blue Earth, the son of Casper L. and Lucille G. (Holm) DahlDick was raised and educated in the Pilot Grove area, graduating in 1962 from Elmore High School. He loved playing football and basketball in high school and stayed active with golfing and softball throughout his life. After graduation, he began farming in Pilot Grove and married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Eichhorn, on January 15, 1963. Dick took great pleasure in farming the land, which included the unique sense of community he embraced with his friends and neighbors in Pilot Grove, whether visiting on the fence line with neighbors or lending a helping hand. Dick positively affected numerous kids with his selfless involvement in the Pilot Grove 4H, specifically the softball program. He not only coached the game, but also enforced the belief that through hard work, anything in life can be accomplished. Dick was also an active member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Pilot Grove; serving the church in all areas including President until the church closed. Dick and Rosemary then transferred to the Trinity Lutheran church and remained active members until he could no longer physically attend which greatly saddened him. His greatest passion in life was spending time with his family. He never let time or distance weaken relationships but instead he would communicate with frequent phone calls or traveling the great distances to visit his family. Dick was the cornerstone for the family and will be deeply missed.Dick is survived by his wife, Rosemary Dahl of Blue Earth, son, Dean (& wife Darla) Dahl of Northfield, son, Ryan (& wife Lisa) Dahl of Stuttgart, Germany, sister, Kay (& husband Verlyn) Sandersfeld of Fairmont, brother, Wayne (& wife Kay) Dahl of Johnston, Iowa, his 4 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Casper and Lucille Dahl.
