E. Lorraine (Daly) Kraft

She was born December 31, 1908, at Pleasant Prairie Township, MN, the daughter of John C. and Edith (Boisclair) Daly. She was raised and educated in the Blue Earth area where she attended country school and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1928. She took her normal training after high school and began teaching country school and later taught for many years at SS Peter & Paul Catholic School. She was married to Fred J. Kraft on July 18, 1936 in Blue Earth. Lorraine has been a longtime member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth where she was active in the Catholic Daughters for over 75 years and the Teams of Our Lady. She was also active in the Paulist Players Community Theater group, local Garden Club and the Hospital Auxiliary. From 1977 to 1991, Fred was the director of Crescent Apartments in Blue Earth and Lorraine was the voluntary assistant to the director during this time. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Marguerite "Middy" Thomas of Blue Earth, son, Dan (& Sherry) Kraft of Mapleton, son, John (& Kathy) Kraft of Ham Lake, daughter-in-law, Judy Kraft of Mankato, 10 grandchildren: Michael Kraft, David Kraft, Vicki Kopischke, Kris Kraft, Micki Wilkie, Danna Kraft, Tony Thomas, Eric Thomas, Andy Thomas, Jonathan Kraft, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2001, son, Frank in 2002, five brothers: Frank, Albert, Bill, Bob and John Daly, and three sisters: Sr. Timothy, OSF, Lillian Daly and Ann Carr.
