Lorene M. Clark

Lorene was born April 27, 1920, at Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Flora (Bowman) Kark.She was raised and educated in Blue Earth where she was a 1938 graduate of Blue Earth High School. She attended the Minnesota School of Business in Mankato and was later married to DeVere E. "Potsy" Clark on February 9, 1940 in Blue Earth. The couple farmed east of Blue Earth until 1946. Lorene was a homemaker and had worked as a sales person for several area businesses and was the secretary at the welfare office. The couple owned and operated Clark''s Music Store in Blue Earth for many years, where Lorene was the secretary, salesperson and taught piano lessons for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a choir member and church organist for over 25 years. Following their retirement in the mid 1980''s, the couple enjoyed wintering in Tucson, Arizona. Lorene especially enjoyed time spent with her family.Lorene is survived by her sons: William (& Joan) Clark of Mound, MN, Rev. James (& Jean) Clark of Effingham, South Carolina, Roger E. Clark of Prior Lake, MN, her daughter, Bonnie (& Brian) Bliss of Oberlin, Ohio, her brothers: Donald (& Marian) Kark of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Robert (& Susan) Kark of Denver, Colorado, Emil "Bud" (& Lavonne) Kark of Chatfield, MN, Arthur (& Shirley) Kark of Ft. Meyers, Florida, her sister, Beverly Nave of Blue Earth, MN, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Potsy in 1999, a daughter, Linda Clark, granddaughter, Dr. Debra Clark-Holke, great granddaughter, Faith Clark-Holke, daughter-in-law, Pamela Clark and a brother-in-law, Darrel Nave.
