Ellis J. Anderson

He was born August 4, 1920, at Gruver, Iowa, the son of James and Gertrude (Samo) Anderson.He was raised in Gruver, Iowa and later in Pilot Grove Township, MN, where her attended country schools. In 1936 he began farming in the Brush Creek area. He farmed with his brothers for several years before moving to Chester, Montana 1952. He was a heavy equipment operator in Montana where he helped build the Tiber Dam. He was married to Grace I. Swank on November 8, 1955 in Haver, Montana. The couple moved to Vancouver, WA in 1956 where Ellis began working for General Brewing Co. He became a brew master, working on quality control for brewing Luck Lager. The company was eventually part of Olympia Brewing Company, where he continued to work until his retirement in 1986. Ellis loved to maintain his yard, flowers and gardens. He returned to Blue Earth on New Years Day, 2006. He had been a longtime member of the First Prebyterian Church in Blue Earth, enjoyed frequenting the Senior Citizens Center and always loved playing cards. He was very fond of his pets, especially his dog, Missy. Ellis is survived by his sisters-in-law, Darlene Anderson of Bricelyn, & Gladys Anderson of Blue Earth, his nieces: Pat (& David) Teskey of Savage, Kathy Haase of Blue Earth, Dorothy "Dot" (& Rudy) Forster of Fernly, Nevada, his nephews: James (& Jean) Anderson of Watertown, SD, Randy (& Pam) Anderson of Frost, Brian (& Kristy) Anderson of Frost, Bruce (& Becky) Anderson of Blue Earth and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Grace in 2000, and 2 brothers, Melvin and Arnold Anderson.
