Clarice Amelia Abraham

June 2, 1923 — November 25, 2007

Clarice Amelia (Malwitz) Abraham, daughter of Helena (Callies) and J. Frank Malwitz, was born in Howard, South Dakota (Minor County) and died Sunday, November 25, 2007 on the Abraham Century Farm in Elmore Township. She came into this world on June 2, 1923 and became a child of God through Holy Baptism at St. John''s Lutheran Church of Howard on July 1, 1923. She confirmed her baptismal faith on July 18, 1937, also at St. John''s Lutheran Church of Howard. She graduated from Howard High School in 1941 and Teacher Normal Training (Blue Earth) in 1943. For the next three years she taught country school in Faribault County. On September 6, 1946 she was united in marriage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth to Lloyd Lowell Abraham. They farmed the family farm together until 1990, during which time Clarice was also employed by the Telex Corporation for twenty years. Clarice loved her church and was a member of the LWML and Ladies Aid for many years, as well as a Sunday School teacher when her children were young. She also treasured spending time with her grandchildren, all of whom hold her memory close to their hearts. Her family will remember her beautiful flower garden; her delicious buns and caramel rolls; her scrumptious cookies; and her elegant, hand-sewn quilts. Most importantly, however, we will hold dear the benevolence of her tender and gentle soul. We feel so fortunate to have had her with us for so long. She taught us many things, not the least of which was love.Clarice described her life in this way: "I was lucky that God put me in such a good place. I couldn''t have wished for anything better. My church, neighbors and community were so good to me, and I was able to raise my family here on the farm. I was totally blessed."Left to honor and preserve her memory are her daughters: Joan Abraham (Thomas Reiten) of Grand Forks, N.D.; Kathryn Kraft (John) of Ham Lake, MN; Diane Tvedten (David) of Elmore, MN; and Sandra Abraham (Darryl Helmer) of Billings, MT; grandchildren: Danielle Tvedten (fianc??e Trever Elg); Danica (Tvedten) Rathman (Chris); Jonathon Kraft (fianc??e Kelly Hince); and Cullen Helmer; brothers: Wilbur (& Alva) Malwitz of Elgin, Leonard (& Carol) Malwitz of Blue Earth, Arlo Malwitz of Simi Valley, CA., sister, Viola Paulson of Blue Earth and many other relatives and dear friends.Clarice was preceded in death by her husband and parents, 3 brothers (Duane, Mark, and Edwin), and 2 sisters (Gloria and Doris).
