She was born September 10, 1915, at Sewal, Iowa, the daughter of George and Glee (Johnston) Curtis.She was raised in the southern Iowa and Chicago, Illinois areas where she graduated from Callumette High School in Chicago. She attended Moody Bible College in Chicago where she met and later married Elmer W. Brayton on October 19, 1935. Bertha was a homemaker and minister''s wife for many years. The couple came to Winnebago in 1965 where Elmer was the administrator of Parker Oakes. Bertha was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church here and was active in several church groups through the years.Bertha is survived by her daughter, Juanita (Harold) McAulliffe of Pittsford, New York daughter, Beth (Bob) Oelke of Puposky, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Helen Johnson, sister- DeLee Curtis and brother- Elvis Curtis.
