Eugene W. Stier

Eugene "Gene" was born January 26, 1921, in Blue Earth, the son of Alfred & Alta (Warner) Stier. Gene was raised and educated in Blue Earth where he was a 1938 graduate of Blue Earth High School. He attended the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis where he studied the plumbing trade before entering the U.S. Navy in 1940. He served during WW II as a torpedoman first class, and was released from duty in late 1946. He was married to Berdice V. Erdahl on September 15, 1946 in San Diego, CA. The couple resided in Blue Earth where Gene was a plumber with Dewanz Plumbing & Heating for over 25 years before his retirement in the mid 1980''s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW post #4580 in Blue Earth. He loved traveling with his wife, gardening and spending time with his family. Gene is survived by his son, Gregory (& wife Sylvia) Stier of Austin, daughter, Rhonda K. Lyon of Harmony, sister, Fern Proctor of Feasterville, Pennsylvania, 4 Grandchildren: Erik & Alyson Stier, Angie (& husband Josh) Simon & Corey Lyon, and 3 Great Grandchildren, Wyatt, Ashlyn & Madison Simon.He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995, brothers; Delano and Warren Stier and an infant sister .
