Bob was born on June 6, 1922 in rural Blue Earth the son of Harry & Maude Childs.Bob was one of the last of the old horse traders. He had a special place in his heart for horses, raising many for sport and leisure. He was a 30 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore and belonged to the local saddle club and snowmobile club for many years. Bob''s other hobbies included produce gardening, mowing lawns, helping local farmers, fishing and tinkering in his garage or "play house",where the door was always open. Over the course of his life Bob worked as a truck driver, auto mechanic and farm hand. Since retiring he worked at Green Giant Co.Bob is survived by his daughter, Gloria (Jim) Senenfelder of Fairmont, grandchildren: Jim (Terry) Senenfelder of Walker, Tammy (Troy) Stanton of Mazeppa, Naomi (Todd) Segar of Fairmont, Dawn (Tom) Price of Minnetonka, Todd (Kristi) McGill of Montrose, eleven great grandchildren, a brother, Mike Childs of Armstrong, Iowa, two step-children, Dawn Owen of Hastinga and her children: Brittany, Krista & Tiffany, and David Childs of Big Lake, MN.He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Rochelle Frawley, a brother, Bill Childs and a sister, Ruth Freese.Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to United Hands Hospice or Mourning Glorys Prayer Retreat Center.
