Eleanor A. Ehrich

August 18, 1919 — October 8, 2006

Eleanor Alma Augusta (Mensing) Ehrich was born August 18, 1919, at Jo Daviess Township, Faribault County MN. the daughter of Herman Mensing and Frieda (Martin) Mensing. She was baptized in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth on September 8, 1919 and was later confirmed there in 1934. She was a graduate of Blue Earth High School and was married to Lawrence C. Ehrich on December 8, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The couple made there home on the Ehrich family farm for many years. Lawrence died in 1998 and Eleanor continued to live on the farm until moving to Blue Earth in 2001. She was active in the ladies aid in her church, the LWML and taught Sunday School. She had also worked at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center for 17 years. Eleanor enjoyed using her sewing machine and working at crafts with her husband following their retirement. She enjoyed making quilts, many by hand, and constructing quilts for missions when she could. Eleanor is survived by her son, Duane (& Joyce) Ehrich, son, Larry (& Janice) Ehrich, son, Loren (& Cherrice) Ehrich, brother, Arnold (& Beatrice) Mensing, sisters-in-law, Mildred Kienitz and Elnora Mensing, 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ehrich, infant son, Lynn Ehrich, sister, Frances Abraham, brother, Ralph Mensing, and 3 brothers-in-law.
