Regina Sukalski

April 1, 1915 — October 10, 2006

Regina was born April 1, 1915, at Silver Lake Township, MN the daughter of Edward L. and Anna E. (Pytleski) Petrowiak. She was raised and educated in Martin County, MN at Silver Lake Township where she attended District #92 schools. She was married to Thomas L. Sukalski on October 24, 1933 at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Chain. The couple farmed in East Chain and later near Blue Earth before moving in to Blue Earth in 1951. Regina was a homemaker and had worked in the kitchen at the Cedar Inn, as a housekeeper for various families in Blue Earth and at the Beacon Motel. She was the head housekeeper at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center for many years, before retiring in 1985. She was a former member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, where she was active in the St. Francis Circle, and was a current member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Jean''s joys in life were her family, embroidery work, cooking and baking. Many family & friends often enjoyed her bountiful tables of food. Before moving to Goldfinch Estates she was a constant caregiver for many.Regina is survived by her daughter, Elaine (& Don) Radohl of Blue Earth, her daughter, Patricia (& Roger) Oelke of Fairmont, her son, Robert (& Marg) Sukalski of Tucson, AZ, her son, Richard (& Sandy) Sukalski of Layton, Utah, her brother, Louis (& Lucille) Petrowiak of Fairmont, her sister, Delores (& Duane) Bursaw of Fairmont, her sister, Alice Petrowiak of Fairmont, 4 grandchildren: Lon (& Marilyn) Oelke of Ceylon, Dan Oelke of Washington, D.C., Terry (& April) Sukalski of Tucson, AZ, Brenda (& Doug) Nelson of Vail, AZ., 6 great grandchildren: Nick Oelke of St. Paul, Erik Oelke of St. Paul, Michael Oelke of Tallahassee, FL., Skyler Sukalski of Tucson, AZ., Cody Nelson of Vail, AZ, Jaydine Sukalski of Tucson, AZ., 5 step-grandchildren: Nicole (Ali) Zaidi of New York City, Shannon (Matt) Singleton of Anchorage, AK., Amber (Troy) Droegemueller of Fairmont, Angel (Matt) Moeller of Fairmont, Tiffany (& Ian) Larsen of Minneapolis and 3 step-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.Regina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Sukalski in 1968 her two sisters & brothers-in-law: Margaret (Carl) Sefanski and Violet (Walter) Maday.
