Wayne was born on May 4, 1929. He was raised and lived on the family farm all his life, and was educated at country school in Jo Daviess Township. He was united in marriage to Genevieve Howard on October 3, 1948 at the First Baptist Church in Blue Earth. Wayne started farming in the spring of 1948 and in 1958 he attended and graduated from Auction college and began his auction career that spanned 40 plus years, selling 100''s of farm machinery, Real Estate, and Livestock Auctions throughout the upper midwest. He was also an Instructor of Auctioneering at the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa for 20 years, enjoying each and every student from the entire United States and Canada. Wayne was also an instructor at the advanced livestock seminar in South St. Paul, MN for many years. He was a member of the National Auction Association and was inducted into the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 1999. Wayne served on the Faribault Co. planning and zoning board, was a Friend of 4-H and served on the Trinity Lutheran Church council for many years.Wayne is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Howard) Wagner, his 4 sons: John (& wife Jean) of Pilot Grove, Bob (& wife Chris) of Zumbrota, Jim (& wife Carla) of Guckeen, Lee (& wife Lisa) of Minneapolis, 9 grandchildren and sister, Irene Senne of Fairmont and many niece and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Iver and Isabel (Nerheim) Wagner and 2 brothers Marvin and Kenneth Wagner.
