Joanne Dickman

Joanne "Jo" was born August 25, 1933, at home in Blue Earth, the daughter of Melvin and Luella (Paschke) Reifsteck.She was baptized at Salem Evangelic Church in Blue Earth. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1951 and was later married to E. James Dickman on September 17, 1951 in Blue Earth. The couple farmed and raised their family in Verona Township. Jo was a cateress at Riverside Town & Country Club for several years and had briefly worked at Central Graphics. For many years she and Jim spent winters snowmobiling and after retirement, wintered in Mesa, Arizona. In recent years she volunteered at the Senior Center, Rainbow Food Co-op, St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Red Cross Blood Mobile, Faribault Co. Historical Society and at her church, SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She belonged to the Prescott Extension Club, Catholic Daughters, Blue Earth Council of Catholic Women, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and would do anything for them. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, knitting, crocheting, collecting Barbies, playing bridge and was an avid walker.Joanne is survived by her son, Mike Dickman of Blue Earth, her daughter, Connie Dickman of Midvale, Utah, her daughter, Jean (& Doug) Besendorf of Frost, her daughter, Mary (& Dennis) Warner of Blue Earth, her son, Rick (& Shannon) Dickman of Blue Earth, 9 grandchildren: Taresa (& Scott) Christensen, Jason Dickman, Bonnie Dickman, Cassie Dickman, Stephanie Besendorf, Denise Warner, Travis Warner, Maggie & Morgan Dickman, 3 great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Rene & Charisma Christensen, her sister, Nina Kriewall of Spirit Lake, IA, her sister, Eleanor Younger of St. Louis Park, her brother, Jim (& Rose) Reifsteck of Buffalo, her sisters-in-law, Ruth Reifsteck of New London, WI and Mary (& Emmett) Stevermer of Ames, IA.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Jim in 1999 and brothers Warren & Bill Reifsteck.
