Lawrence Weis

He was born June 26, 1933, at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Orville and Eileen (Ward) Weis.Jerry was raised in Sioux City where he attended Blessed Sacrament and Trinity middle schools before graduating from Sioux City Heelan High School in 1951. He attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion before serving in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He returned home in 1955 and was later married to Frances R. Emmerich on August 24, 1957 in Austin, MN. Jerry graduated from Morningside College in 1959 and began working at J.C. Penney?s in Ames, Iowa. He later worked at Weyerhauser in Austin, MN before moving to Blue Earth in 1965 to open the Sears store. Jerry later worked for the Assissi Residence for 20 years and eventually retired from Elm Homes in 2002. He was a longtime member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, the VFW post 4580, American Legion Post 89 and the Knights of Columbus.Jerry is survived by his wife, Frances Weis of Blue Earth, his brother, Joseph (& Ramona) Weis of Denver, Colorado, his cousins, Pat (& Bill) Puetz & Bobbie Gehrki, and 8 nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents
