Opal Trasmer

She was born September 14, 1913, at Ledyard, IA, the daughter of Theodore & Alida (Owens) Kleindl. She was raised and educated in the Elmore & Pilot Grove areas. She was married to Sute C. Sunken on March 11, 1936 in Blue Earth. The couple lived in Frost for a few years before coming to Blue Earth in the 1942. Opal was a homemaker and worked for Green Giant Company for 28 years, retiring in the 1971. Following Sute''s death, Opal was later married to Ernest A. Trasmer on November 18, 1978. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and was an avid quilter and gardener, raising many types of vegetables & produce.Opal is survived by her son, Garry (& Ellen) Sunken of Blue Earth, her son, Dean Sunken of Sturgis, Michigan, her son, Maynard Sunken of Blue Earth, her sister, Marcella Wessels of Blue Earth, and many grandchildren, andgreat grandchildrenOpal was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sons- Lloyd and Rick Sunken and a daughter- Doris Newville.
