Mavis Anderson

Mavis was born July 3, 1931, at Faribault Co., MN, the daughter of Otis T. and Mildred B. (Peterson) Hougen.Mavis was raised and educated in the Blue Earth area where she attended Blue Earth Schools. She married Marlin J. "Andy" Anderson on September 17, 1949 at East Chain Lutheran Church. Mavis was a homemaker and had worked at Green Giant, Schwen''s Ice Cream and Telex through the years. She had been a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Although the last few years of her life were spent fighting Alzheimers Disease, Mavis loved her life; especially dear were any time spent with her family.Mavis is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie (& husband Steve) Murphy, Deb (& husband Jack) Norman, and Cheryl (& husband Kim) Anderson, all of Mankato. Also surviving are her brother, Gerald (& wife Jean) Hougen of Blue Earth, sister, Marvis Northwick of Blue Earth, sister, Nylene Holmseth of Frost, sister, Beverly (& husband Frank) Kitzmann of Janesville, sister, Erma (& husband Bud) Schwab of Blue Earth, grandchildren: Jade & Bree Murphy, Kendall & Katie Norman, and Lexi & Alex Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Andy, in 2001.
