Martha Schaefer

Martha was born March 8, 1907, at Jay Township, Martin County, MN the daughter of G. Louis and Lydia (Finke) Schaefer.She received her education at Jay Center School, District 113 and Blue Earth Schools where she graduated from high school in 1926. She later moved to Illinois where she worked in the Forest Park/Oak Park areas as a domestic. She moved back to Minnesota and worked several places caring for the elderly, and eventually working at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth as a nurses aide. Due to her health, she retired and moved into Crescent Apartments in Blue Earth where she lived until she became a resident of St. Luke?s in March of 1992. Martha leaves many nieces & nephews and their families, and two sisters-in-law: Altie & Anne Schaefer to mourn her passing, and rejoice in her new life with Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Fred, Herman, Reuben, Elmer, Ezra, Harold, Arlington, Enno and sisters, Ella Weyhrauch, Minnie Buchmann, Dorothy Paschke and Meta Marks.
