Julia was born September 4, 1912, at Mankato, the daughter of Elkins and Margret (Rodman) Willard.She was raised and educated in Mankato where she graduated from High School and attended Mankato Teachers College, earning a four year degree in education. She taught at the Easton Schools in the 1930''s and later was principal of the Blue Earth Junior High School from 1938 to 1943. She was married to David D. Dick, Sr. on June 4, 1942 in Mankato. Julia was a homemaker for a time before returning to teach the fourth grade at Elmore School from 1962 until 1976. She later worked part time at the Mode O Day store in Blue Earth until 1985. Julia was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church where she severed as president of the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday School, was a release time teacher and served in many other areas. She was also past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Past President of the American Legion Auxilliary, Volunteerd at the Library for many years and was a fixture at St. Luke''s visiting people and volunteering.She is survived by her son, David (& wife Anita) Dick, Jr. of Cottage Grove, daughter, Abbie Dick of Washougal, Washington, brother, William Willard of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, brother, Charles Willard of Horseshoe, Arkansas, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.Julia was preceded in death by her husband in 1978 and a brother, George Willard.
