Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2005, at 10:00 AM, at Salem United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Pastor Wane Souhrada officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Methodist Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe was born January 29, 1922, at Blue Earth Mn., the daughter of Jacob and Myrtle (Poetter) Bouma.Vi was raised and educated in the Blue Earth and Frost area. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1940. The couple farmed northeast of Frost from 1940 to 1967. They moved to Blue Earth in 1967 where Violet worked at Telex, Country Kitchen, Walmart and for Dr. Edling through the years. She was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church and was always active at events held at Crescent Apartments, where she had resided the last few years.Vi is survived by her Daughter: Susan Frette, Blooming Prairie, MN, Daughter: Pam (& husband Pat)Krebsback, Swea City, IA, Step Grandaughter: Brandy (& husband Eric) Weishaar and their son Brayden, and special Grandchildren: Jamis, Laura & Aubrey Hueper. Also surviving are 2 sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1984.
