Evelyn Paschke

Evelyn was born May 1, 1919, on a farm in Ceresco Township outside of Lake Crystal, MN, the daughter of Ray and Mayme (Tressler) Mead. After the death of her mother when she was 12, Evelyn lived with her grandparents in Lake Crystal where she graduated from high school in 1937. She worked in Amboy and Blue Earth where she met John H. Paschke. The couple married on November 20, 1941, and farmed east of Blue Earth on John''s grandfather''s farm until John''s death in 1990. Evelyn was a longtime member of the Salem United Methodist church where she participated in the Sunday School, both as a teacher and a member, and in Circle. In recent years she enjoyed getting together with all her friends at bridge club, extension club, birthday club, Saturday morning coffees and Friday lunches. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and son-in-law Charles Kubat of Las Vegas, Nevada, and their children Jeremy and Michelle, a brother Marshall Mead and his wife Pat, and sister-in-laws Dolores Mead and Margie Mead. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, older brothers Gordon and Russell Mead, younger brothers Walter and John Earl Mead, and an infant sister.
