Ruby Marlene (Evans) Johnson reached her final destination as she entered the gates of Heaven on March 22, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the Little Rock Cemetery in Plano, Illinois. There will be a lunch served following at Plano First Lutheran, Plano, Illinois. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Forest, her five children; Zane (Sue) Johnson, Theresa (Allen) Bagg, Sara Kling, Cozette (Wayne) Jones, Gretchen (Rick) Kerry; her nine grandchildren; Anna and Noel Johnson, Evan and Briante Bagg, Nicole and Daniel Kling, Brandon and Forest Jones, and Andrew Bell; her mother, Ida Evans; her sister, Edie (Larry) Weeks, her sister-in-law, Arnita (Bill) Magiera, several Aunts, one Uncle, many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Emmett Evans, her brother Lloyd Evans, her son-in-law, Daniel Kling, and her grandson, Ryan David Johnson.Mrs. Johnson was born Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933 to Emmett and Ida (Yates) Evans in Heilman, Indiana. She and her family moved to Plano, Illinois when she was young. She graduated from Plano Community High School in 1951. She worked at Coopers Home Furnishing while in high school. She met Forest Johnson in February 1952 at his cousin''s wedding. They were married September 8, 1955 by her Uncle at her parent''s home. They spent many years in the Newark/Plano area raising their family. They moved to Frost, Minnesota upon Forest''s retirement. Mrs. Johnson spent most of her life as a homemaker . She did, however, work at her sister''s restaurant, Jovac Inc. and then retired from Wal-Mart in Blue Earth, Minnesota.She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 395 and the Rebekkah Lodge Plano, Illinois, an active member of the Dell Women of Life, past treasurer for the American Cancer Society, and past volunteer for KJLY. She will be most remembered for her devotion to Christ, her husband, and family; her unconditional love, and her excellent cooking. She loved making sure the holidays were special. She will be deeply missed.
