Ruth Parish

Ruth was born January 16, 1920, at Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of William F. and Josephine M. (Sherlock) Eagan.She was raised and educated in Emmetsburg where she graduated from high school in 1937. In 1941 she moved to Pasadena, California where she worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Company as a bookkeeper. In 1943 she moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she worked for an insurance company. She was married to Dixon W. Parish on May 4, 1946 in Emmetsburg, Iowa and the couple moved to Iowa City, Iowa. They returned to Emmetsburg for a few years before moving to Blue Earth, Minnesota in 1957. Ruth was a homemaker and had worked for Dick Boran Accounting and helped teach music at a retirement community for nuns. She had also been a nurse?s aide at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.Ruth is survived by her daughter, Anne (& husband David) Skaden of Kalona, Iowa, son, William (& wife Janice) Parish of Grand Marais, MN, son, Thomas (& wife JoAnn) Parish of International Falls, MN, son, David (& wife Sharlene) Parish of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, brother, Dr. Clement Eagan of El Paso, Texas and 8 grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 brothers: Russell, Robert, Emmett,William, Carl and Rev. John Eagan.
