John Birk

John was born November 29, 1915, at Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Fred & Mabel (Chilson) Birk.John attended school in Escanaba, Michigan and Blue Earth, Minnesota. He moved to Blue Earth in 1925. John married Leone Schimmel on June 1, 1940 at St. Peter & Paul''s Catholic Church in Blue Earth. He worked at L & M Motors for 40 years and retired in 1979. John ushered for many years at St. Peter & Paul''s Catholic Church in Blue Earth. He loved to hunt , fish and did camping for many years. He is survived by his wife, Leone Birk of Blue Earth, daughter, Joan (& husband Bob) Griep of Watertown, WI, daughter, Marilyn Fox of Puyallup, WA, son, John (& wife Vivian) Birk of Cross Plains, WI, daughter, Kathleen (& husband Ross) Nesbit of LeSueur, son, Robert (& wife Joan) Birk of Lakemoor, IL, son, Thomas (& wife Violet) Birk of New Brighton, son, Richard (& wife Phyllis) Birk of Madison, SD, son, Michael (& wife Brenda) Birk of Chisago City, daughter, Joleen (& husband Todd) Hassel of Centerville, 25 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers & four sisters..
