He was born June 22, 1925, at Clarion, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Almeda (Doctor) Campbell.He was raised and educated in Clarion, Iowa and Elmore area where he graduated from Elmore High School. He was married to Fern Egeness on October 13, 1945 in Frost. The couple farmed South of Blue Earth until 1957 when Eldon began working as a lineman for Blue Earth Light & Water. He eventually became a line supervisor and retired after 30 years of service in 1987. He was also a member of the Blue Earth Fire Department for 25 years where he served as Assistant Chief for several years. Eldon was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was an enthusiastic supporter of Blue Earth Area School activities, especially the wrestling and football programs. He was also a "frustrated" Minnesota Vikings fan.Eldon is survived by his wife, Fern Campbell of Blue Earth, son, Brad (& wife Babs) Campbell of Wheatland, Wyoming, son, Scott (& wife Mickie) Campbell of Blue Earth, son, Jeffrey (& wife Vickie) Campbell of Blue Earth, son, Terry (& wife Melissa) Campbell of Blue Earth, former daughter-in-law, Linda Meyn of Tampa , Florida, 13 grandchildren , 10 great grandchildren, sister, June O''Neil of Watertown, Wisconsin, brother, Dallas (& wife Ida) Campbell of St. Cloud and a sister-in-law, Lorna Campbell of Duluth.Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Dean Campbell and a brother-in-law, Charles O''Neil.
