Evelyn Halverson

Evelyn was born November 13, 1912, at Wyndmere, North Dakota, the daughter of Lars & Freida (Franz) Olsgard.She lived in Wyndmere until graduating from high school in 1929. She graduated from St. Olaf College in 1933, Summa Cum Laude. She was married to Otto M. Halverson on September 21, 1940 and the couple resided in Blue Earth all their married life. Evelyn taught school for 22 years in Blue Earth and surrounding communities, retiring from Delavan Schools. Her career interest in children showed in her outside activities by leading a Girl Scout Troop and Jo Davies 4-H. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth for over 60 years; participating in church council, teaching Sunday school and other women?s group activities.Evelyn is survived by her son, Robert (& wife Patricia) Halverson of Blue Earth, a grandson, Brad. Also surviving are 4 step-grandchildren: Dan Petersen, Brenda Hesbeck, Jeff Petersen, Steven Peterson and 6 step-great grandchildren.Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Otto in 1995), daughter- Patricia Hoveland, brother, LeRoy Olsgard and 2 sisters, Pearl Tveten and Viola Gullickson, 6 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law.
