Verona Schaefer

Roni was born November 30, 1927, at New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Gerhardt and Martha (Pederson) Olson.She grew up in New Ulm and attended New Ulm schools. In 1947 she married Arnold D. Anderson and later married Leonard Schaefer on August 19, 1978 in New Ulm. She managed & owned caf?s in Elmore, New Ulm and Klossner, MN and later did Home Health Care for the elderly. Roni enjoyed wintering in Apache Junction Arizona for many years and has lived there year-round for the past 3 years before returning to Blue Earth earlier in 2005. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially "hand & foot",even when she was not consistently winning.She is survived by her son, James (& wife Jean) Anderson of Watertown, South Dakota, daughter, Kathleen Haase of Blue Earth, 6 grandchildren: Renee, Rory, Reed, Dan (& wife Amy), Melissa (& husband Brian) and Andy. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren: Jennifer, Ashley, Jamie, Madeline and Brendan, a brother, James (& wife Lois) Olson of Chino Hills, California, sister, Gladys Olson of Chino Hills, California, and many nieces & nephews.Roni was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, 1 great grand-daughter & good friend Owen Scanson
