Duane T. Sohn

Duane was born October 4, 1934, on his family farm in rural Blue Earth, the son of Alfred H. & Kathleen (Cherland) Sohn.He was raised and educated in Blue Earth where he was a 1952 graduate of Blue Earth High School. He was married to Janice K. Evans on November 27, 1955 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Winnebago. Duane was a lifelong dairy farmer on his family farm. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and returned home to the farm. Duane was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth and was a member of the American Legion Post 89, Faribault Co. Dairy Association, served on the Blue Earth Township Board and was an honorary charter farmer of the Future Farmers of America. Duane enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing and wood carving.He is survived by his wife, Janice Sohn of Blue Earth, son, Michael Sohn of Blue Earth, daughter, Deborah Sohn of Brooklyn Park, son, Thomas Sohn of Blue Earth, daughter, Linda Sohn of Blue Earth, daughter, Mary (& husband Jeff) Doherty of Byron, son, Mark (& wife Vickie) Sohn of Blue Earth, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren , brother, Darrell (& wife Dorothy) Sohn of Plymouth, brother, David (& wife Priscilla) Sohn of Long Lake, sister, Diane (& husband Carl) Hoffstedt of Golden Valley.He was preceded in death by his parents and one son - (Jeffery).
