BLUE EARTHJanuary 20, 2004Lydia PooleyLydia Pooley, age 91, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2004, at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Stephen Bohling & Rev. Kenneth Carlson officiating. Visiting hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church.Lydia was born March 25, 1912, at Highmore, South Dakota, the daughter of Michael & Lydia (Rittle) Hoffman.She was raised and educated in South Dakota where she attended school in Madison. She moved to Wyoming in the early 1930''s where she was married for a brief time before returning to Madison, South Dakota where she was later married to Clifford A. Pooley in 1946. The couple came to Blue Earth in 1950 where Lydia became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the church for many years and was also very active at the VFW, serving as head of the kitchen there for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was devoted to her family and friends. She was known to be a true Jack-of-All-Trades.Lydia is survived by her daughter, Alice Nimz of Blue Earth, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant child, son-Leroy James Cook, brother-Otto Hoffman and son-in-law, Ronnie Nimz.
