Rosella was born May 30, 1912, at East Chain, MN, the daughter of John & Emma (Harms) Struss. She grew up on farms and went to East Chain schools. She was married to William L. Welfare on June 30, 1930 in Fairmont. Except for a short time living in Michigan they spent most of their lives on farms in the northern Iowa and Elmore areas. The couple retired to Elmore in 1962 where William continued to work the land as a farm hand. Rosella moved to New Life Manor in Blue Earth when she was 80 and later to St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in October of 2002. She was a longtime member of the Blue Earth Assembly of God Church and she was active in Christian Women''s Club. She is survived by her daughter, Pauline (& husband Alan) Erickson of Brooklyn Park, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Welfare of Blue Earth, brother Earl Struss of Granada, sister Hattie Simser of Blue Earth, step-sister, Kathleen Klein of California, grandchildren: Randy, Debby, Robin, Nick, Ryan, Aaron and Nathan and their families; grandchildren by the way of Marilyn: Vickie, Debbie, Cherie, Bob, Rick, Lori, Jack, Joni and their families, many great grandchildren and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son-David in 1997, granddaughter- Cindy, Step-mother, Henrietta, 3 sisters and 9 brothers.
