Ruth Westby

Ruth Eleanor Schwen was born June 26, 1920, at Blue Earth, Mn., the daughter of Herbert and Minnie (Wehsener) Schwen. She was a 1939 graduate of Blue Earth High School. She attended Mankato State University and Mankato Commercial College. She was employed as a bookeeper at Sears in Minneapolis before her marriage to Marvin Westby on February 10, 1946 at Salem EUB Church in Blue Earth. The couple lived in Redwood Falls and Winnebago before moving to Blue Earth in 1959. Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star and the Salem United Methodist Church were she was active in circle and taught sunday school. Ruth enjoyed traveling throught the United States and wintered in Mesa, Arizona for many years.Ruth is survived by her husband, Marvin Westby of Blue Earth, son, Neil (& wife Debby) Westby of Danube, MN, daughter, Carol Westby of New Braunfels, Texas, daughter, Cindy (& husband Mick) Lutz of Fairmont, son, Mark Westby of Blue Earth, grandchildren: Bridget Reinke, Valarie Balch, Allison Bianchi, Nathan Westby, Gordy Diekmann, Sara Bartlett, Jeremy Westby, Myla Diekmann, and 11 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents.
