Mary Belle was born August 3, 1912, at Pilot Grove Township, Mn., the daughter of Charles & Mary (Carpenter) Steuer.She was raised and educated in Pilot Grove Township where she attended country schools and was a 1931 graduate of East Chain High School. She was married to Carl J. Germann on July 25, 1931 in Blue Earth. Mary Belle went on to earn her cosmetology license at the Mankato Beauty School. She was a member of the Better Blossoms Garden Club and was a liftime member of the First United Methodist Church where she was active in Circle and the United Methodist Women. She had worked for several years as a checker at Elmer''s SuperValu, as a waitress at the White House Restaurant and later as a baliff for the Faribault Co. Sheriff''s Department. She also frequently volunteered at St. Luke''s through the years.Mary Belle is survived by her sons, Darryl (& wife Kay) Germann of Blue Earth & Gary ( & wife Geri) Germann of Sandstone, daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Rusty) Hannaman of Blue Earth, & Mary (Mrs. Tom) Larson, of Marshall, sister-in-law, Viola Harpestad of Elmore, eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl in 1983, an infant son Virgil Wayne, two brothers, Guy & Kenneth Steuer and two sisters, Lygia Stewart & Ada Henry.
