Dorothy Ficken

Dorothy was born August 17, 1921, at Blue Earth, the daughter of Ludwig H. and Clara M. (Gullikson) Satre.She was raised and educated in Frost where she attended country schools. She was married to Ralph R. Ficken on September 7, 1941 at Dell Lutheran Church near Frost. Dorothy was a longtime cashier for Elmer''s SuperValu which later became Juba''s SuperValu. She also looked after the flower shop at the grocery store for many years. She retired in the mid 1980''s. Dorothy was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she volunteered for many church functions. She was also a volunteer at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. She enjoyed spending the summer at her summer home at Lake Pepin near Lake City. She is survived by her son, Mike (& wife Bonnie) Ficken of Winnebago, daughter, Barbara (& husband Morris) Knudsen of Lake City, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 2003 and her parents.
