John was born February 23, 1918, in Blue Earth the son of Hans L. and Marie C. (Simser) Hinrichsen.He was raised and educated in Blue Earth where he attended Blue Earth High School. He was married to Iva Hauskins on July 3, 1940 in Blue Earth. The couple farmed at Pilot Grove Township south of Blue Earth for over 60 years; retiring to Elmore in the mid 1980''s. John & Iva were longtime members of the Salem Lutheran Church at Pilot Grove until the church closed in 1993. They became active members of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. John enjoyed farming and being outdoors while hunting & fishing. He was a 4H leader for many years.John is survived by his son, Jeff (& wife Judy) Hinrichsen of Blue Earth, son, Brad (& wife Jean) Hinrichsen of Blue Earth, daughter, Beth (& husband Wayne) Anderson of Fergus Falls, daughter: Linda (& husband Woody) Kastner of Palm Springs, California, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren , brother: Howard Hinrichsen of Blue Earth, sister: Phyllis (& husband Don) Harder of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and a sister-in-law, Ruberta Hinrichsen of Fairmont.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Iva and a brother- Milden Hinrichsen.
