Margaret Carr Guerber was born in Derrick, ND, March 28, 1918 and moved to Blue Earth with her family as a small child. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1936 and received her B.A. degree from the College of St. Teresa, Winona, in 1940. She married Marcus Guerber in 1941.She spent her younger years as a farm wife and mother but worked for Culligan and TAFCO as her family grew up. Over the years she was actively involved in a variety of organizations at SS. Peter & Paul''s including Catholic Daughters, the parent-teacher organization, the choir, parish council and church circle. Most recently she and a group of her contemporaries were involved in a successful money-raising project for the new parish center. He life long avocation and talent was writing. In high school whe wrote for the BEHS school paper, the Mah-Ko-Tah, and wrote for college publications as well. For many years she contributed articles to the Catholic Diocesan newspaper, the Winona Courier, and also served a stint as columnist for the Blue Earth Post.She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Pat, brothers John and George, and her husband, Marcus. She is survived by three children: Connie Hanlon and husband Vince; Terri Colby; Pierre Guerber and wife Jean. She had five granchildren - Dylan and Luc Guerber, Jim and Brian Hanlon, and Heather Nichols - and three great grandsons - Sean, Ian and Gaelan Hanlon.She will be missed.
