Pilot Grove, MNSeptember 19, 2004JoAnne LarsenJoAnne Larsen, age 56, of Pilot Grove, MN, formerly of Charles City, died Sunday, September 19, 2004, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at 10:30 AM, at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating. Burial will be in East Chain Lutheran Cemetery, East Chain. Visitation time will be from 5 - 8 PM Tuesday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church.JoAnne was born January 2, 1948, at Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Earl W. and Wilma (Swinton) Braend.She was raised and educated in Charles City, Iowa where she was a 1966 graduate of Charles Cith High School. She attended Mankato Commercial College before her marriage to Dean Larsen on August 5, 1967 in Charles City, Iowa. The couple moved to Pilot Grove Township, MN where they farmed for many years. JoAnne was a homemaker and had worked at the Elmore Bank for a short time. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Pilot Grove where she was the church organist for many years. Following the closing of her church in the early 1990''s she became a member of the Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. JoAnne had been a 4-H leader years ago and always loved family gatherings. She enjoyed their family pets, collecting angels & bears and especially playing the piano. She is survived by her husband, Dean Larsen of, Pilot Grove, son, Jason (wife Laura) Larsen of Blue Earthson, Shane (wife Shelly) Larsen of East Chain and their children Kaleigh & Kassidy, son, Jeremy Larsen (& fiancee Laurie Osmundson) of Elmore, sister, Diane (Husband Tom) Maloney of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a sister, Jane (Husband Rick) Staudt of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents.Memorial donations will be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Courage Center or United Hands Hospice.
