She was born April 2, 1926, in Blue Earht, the daughter of Francis and Sophia (Ehrich) Klatt.Selma was raised and educated in the Blue Earth area.. She was married to Norbert J. Mensing on August 8, 1946 in Beckemeyer, Illinois. The couple farmed near Delavan and Frost for several years before Norbert began N. J. Mensing Enterprises, a building contractor and hardware business. Selma was a homemaker and had worked in the family construction business for many years. She was a longtime member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was active in the CCW. Selma was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 89 Auxiliary where she had served as president. She also served in several American Legion Auxiliary District positions including 2nd District President in 1983.Selma is survived by her daughter, Carol (& husband Pat) Timmons of New Prague, son, Mike Mensing of Blue Earth, son, Mark (& wife Mary) Mensing of Blue Earth, daughter, Diane Mensing of Burnsville, daughter, Sharon Hoyt of Blue Earth, son, Dan (& wife Becky) Mensing of Blue Earth, sister, Laurie (& husband Gerhard) Boettcher of Blue Earth, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Norbert in 1999, daughter-Linda Tenquist in 1995 and her sisters- Geneva Vogt and Helen Fuchs.Memorial are preferred to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Blue Earth and United Hands Hospice, Blue Earth.Friends may pay tribute at www.pattonfh.com
