Ralph C. Jahnke, Sr.

Ralph C. Jahnke, Sr., age 78, of Elmore, died Friday, October 15, 2004, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at 9:30 AM, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth, with Pastor Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth with Military Honors. Visitation time will be from 4-8 PM Monday, October. 18 and one hour prior to services at the funeral home., 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth on Tuesday.He was born January 14, 1926, at Blue Earth Minnesota, the son of Benjamin & Agnes (Matteson) Jahnke..He attended school at Blue Earth. During WWII he served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines. Ralph married Alvina A. Jackson on December 20, 1947 in Minneapolis. They lived in the Blue Earth & Elmore areas for many years. He worked as a Salesman, Foreman for Elmore Nursery for 20 years, and for Ankeny-Wiederholdt Constuction in Blue Earth until retiring due to his health. Mrs. Jahnke preceded him in death in 2003. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #4580 in Blue Earth and American Legion Post #192 in Elmore.He is survived by his Daughter: Linda(& husband Darrel) Sager, Fairmont, Minnesota, Daughter: Annie C. (& special friend Roger Van Muyden) Larson, Heron Lake, Minnesota, Daughter: Sheryl Jahnke, Elmore, Minnesota, Son: Ralph, Jr. (& wife Deborah) Jahnke, Elmore, Minnesota, Son: Ronnie (& wife Donita) Jahnke, Mankato, Minnesota, Son: Randy (& wife Sheila) Jahnke, North Mankato, Minnesota, 18 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Larry (& wife Marsha) Jahnke, Guckeen, Minnesota, Brother: Benny Jahnke, Franklin, Minnesota, Brother: Lorman (& wife Beverly), Elmore, Minnesota; Sister: Anna Ferguson, Granada, Minnesota, Sister: Helen (& husband Loyd) Hinton, Blue Earth, Minnesota.He was also preceded in death by his Parents, one Great Grandson (Jordan Larson), and one Brother (George).
